Fresh Physicists Welcomed

Department of physics held its Freshers Party on 5th of September 2015. The students, who were eagerly waiting for their juniors to interact with them, finally accomplished it with a successful Freshers Party.
The event started at around 5:30pm in LA-204. All the freshers and professors were welcomed with flowers and chandan. This was followed by the performances by the freshers who entertained the crowd with dance, song and skit. There was also some fun planned for the freshers. After the performances, there was a balloon game where freshers enjoyed a lot. Then there was a mandoline performance by Buddhadev Samanta. After all the entertainments events, the freshmen of the department introduced themselves to the others and they students present over there.
The auspiciousness of the event was amplified as it was Teachers’ Day. This was the best opportunity to celebrate it with all the students and professors of the department present under a single roof. The Teachers’ Day programme was inaugurated by the HOD with candle lightning and flower tribute along with a flute performance by Buddhadev Samanta. The event commenced with a mesmerising speech by Priyanka Ragini followed by speeches of the professors. Two dance performances by the students of the department followed this.
The event ended with a flute performance by Ram and announcement of the Mr. and Ms. Fresher for the evening. Preeti Malik and Depanshu Varshney were crowned Ms. and Mr. Fresher respectively.
Overall the event was worth appreciation. The students had made great efforts to give their juniors a warm welcome which they would cherish in their entire life.
