On a fine Thursday evening, the room of LA-117 was filled with chem-o-maniacs of AIChE, NIT Rourkela Chapter. The orientation-cum-induction process started at around 6 pm with an interactive session with the senior members of the club. There was a healthy turnout of around 30 freshers and sophomores.

AIChE is a platform forged by chemical engineers who were interested in innovation and professional growth. It has more than 50000 members from over 100 countries. The senior members of the club projected a presentation showcasing the objectives of the club. The students were also shown the benefits they can reap following their induction into the club. The club had completed a list of activities, since its inception a year back. The club had successfully organized the event ‘Disaster Diagnosis’ in INNOVISION-2K16. The club even plans to organize Chem-o-philia for the upcoming tech fest. Chem-e-car, a global level event conducted by AIChE in the US, is something that the club is vying to participate.

Apart from the achievements, the students were also made aware of the conferences and events organized worldwide and were encouraged to participate in those. Among those, AZEOTROPY is one such national event that the club is enthusiastic to participate in. The chapter has even collaborated the TnP cell to facilitate communication with the entire chemical community all over the world. This will not only help them in getting good jobs but will also increase the potential intellectual support received from various worldwide technocrats.
