Thornton Wilder once said,

I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.

Once such group that showcases the importance of Theatre and Dramatics is RITVIC. RITVIC, the drama club of NITR recently went to NIT Raipur to prove their mettle and make the institute proud. A theatre fest, Rangmanch, was conducted at NIT Raipur from the 16th of March to the 18th of March. RITVIC bagged the second position in the Nukkad Naatak Event, that was held.

RITVIC decided to perform their play on the topic Dharm, a topic on which they had performed Nukkad Naataks before, during Innovision and NITRutsav. Although many teams had initially registered for the event, teams ended up backing out at the last minute. Owing to this, the total number of participating teams ended up being five.

RITVIC’s nukkad was able to mesmerize the audience. Their performance managed to draw a large crowd and they received applause every 30 seconds throughout the duration of their play. Even after their performance, they were greeted by many of the members of the audience with praises and appreciation.

When speaking to the Drama Head of RITVIC, Tanay Kumar, he said

We are glad that the audience had loved our performance. However, we were not quite happy with the judgment that was given. We found the verdict was quite biased towards one of the local colleges that was competing. They ended up being awarded first place. We approached the coordinator with a complaint as we di dnot find the entire process fair. We gave them suggestions and hope this will at least ensure unbiased decisions are taken in future events.

Team MM congratulates RITVIC on their win and terrific performance at NIT Raipur and wishes them all the best for their future performances.
