IEDP at Mining Engineering Department

The Department of Mining Engineering successfully organized an International Executive Development Program (EDP) on “Mine Management, Legislation and General Safety”, for the Executives of BCMCL, Bangladesh from 23rd February to 6th March, 2015 at NIT, Rourkela. The program was attended by 13 Executives of Petrobangla, BCMCL and Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Bangladesh. Prof. D.P.Tripathy was the Core Coordinator of the program. In the training program, the participants were imparted theoretical and practical knowledge and skill on “Challenging issues of Mine Management, Legal Compliance aspects and Safety issues in Coal Mines”.

The course covered were: Financial Management, HRM, Environmental Management, CSR & R&R and Mine Legislation. In Mine Safety Engineering: Mine Rescue and Recovery; Accident Investigation and Reporting, First Aid, Fire Safety, Safety Risk Assessment & Occupational Health Hazards etc. were covered in depth. Two Days Field trips to Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. was also organized for the participants.

Resource persons from MCL and SECL were invited to deliver lectures and share practical experiences with the executives.
