Time to Act

Our Neighbours, the so-called Arch-Rivals Pakistan is at present mourning 145 people, mostly children, killed by the Taliban in a school massacre in Peshawar on 16 December. The brutal crime was executed by seven armed gunmen affiliated to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan who had chosen children as their targets in an army school in Peshawar. Always carried out in the name of Jihad, we can pose only one simple Question, “Does Islam allow this?” The answer is & has always been a clear big NO.

Being in a place where you get to compete with several people even to achieve tiniest of things, the only way to keep going with your efforts is to find daily inspirations. Undoubtedly, there are numerous such stories in and around the institute that can enthral a sense of motivation and team MM is always on sight to provide its readers such insights in the best possible way. However, there has to be a point where one has to think beyond the walls(or in this case the campus). The name we are to reveal is unknown to a few on this planet. It has to be, if that someone is a person who achieves something as imperial as the Noble Peace Prize at a tender age of 17. Yes. It’s Malala Yousafzai we’re talking about.

Swachh NITR?

Cleanliness has raised umpteen concerns in India. According to the World Health Organization nearly 6,500 rupees per person was lost in India due to lack of cleanliness and hygiene. On the birth anniversary of the ‘father of our nation’, the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi exhorted people to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean India. The wave hit our institute too and the revered director of NITR along with a squad of energetic and enthusiastic professors set out to clean the campus and contribute to the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

The Rise of the Fascists

(Before I started writing this article, I had a huge debate with a few friends of mine. They doubt that writing is going to help the authorities withdraw the decision. But that is not the point and it never was the intent. This article isn’t supposed to enlighten any person who tries to be a dictator; rather it is to enlighten the ones whom he tries to dictate. It is not about the effect, it is about the awareness of your rights and your ability to stand for those.)
