Amidst the cool weather of the steel city, NIT Rourkela thrives to the spirit of cricket. The Inter-Hall Cricket Tournament kicked off on 25th October and, the Sachin Tendulkar Sports Complex witnessed adrenaline rush to one's veins till 8th November, with Dhirubhai Ambani Hall of Residence emerging as the Champions on the final night.

Biswajeet Mohanty, DBA Hall of Residence was adjudged as the Man of the Tournament, owing to his all-round performance with both bat and ball contributing immensely in DBA’s success.

The final match was played between DBA Hall of Residence and MSS Hall of Residence. Siddharth Samal, Captain of MSS won the toss and elected to bat on the cool breezy evening. MSS managed a total of 138 at an expense of 9 wickets after 20 overs. Chasing this target, DBA lost an early wicket, but the Captain of DBA, Anubhav Senapati stood tall and scored 64 vital runs off 46 deliveries along with the support of other batsmen. A cameo of 27*(15) from Arnab Nayak which consisted of a couple of maximums made it easier for DBA towards the end. Arnab Nayak finished the match off in style with a six, as DBA thrashed MSS by 7 wickets with 5 balls left. Skipper Anubhav Senapati was adjudged the Man of the Match for the final match.

In the league stage, DBA had beaten SSB Hall of Residence by 95 runs in their first encounter. A close match ended in favor of VS Hall of Residence as they defeated DBA by 2 wickets. DBA Hall of Residence made an impactful comeback by a massive win of 108 runs over GDB Hall of Residence followed by, the win over SD Hall of Residence by in the Semifinal.

Anubhav Senapati, Skipper of the Champion Team expressed his satisfaction with a glowing smile,

I would congratulate the team as they have worked hard for this success. Even after a close defeat against VS Hall of Residence, the team played brilliantly in the upcoming matches. As a Captain, I had been under pressure but, with my bat speaking, I was confident of the win. This will always be dear to me as we brought the title back to DBA Hall of Residence after 4 years.
