An official band of NIT Rourkela, HEARTBEATS is all set to rock the institute again with new faces in it.The fusion band was formed in 2008 with an objective to give a refreshing new look to classical music for the contemporary audience. It has earned a very special position in the college band circuit of India, after being featured in “The Indian Express”.
The band had its Induction on Wednesday at BBA. The number of music enthusiastic people has certainly increased in the institute, inferring to the two hundred people who had turned up for the inductions. They had an extensive three round process both for vocalists and instrumentalists. The first round allowed the participants to play and sing pieces of their own choice. While the second and third round tested the range, style and creativity of the participants.
The band has finally inducted 6 students, all belonging to the first year. The final list includes Vishal Arvind, Sanjeevan Nanda, Gitesh Gautam, Abhay Raizada, Pradeep Kunwar and Tannya George. The band’s senior members hope that these new members will help take the band to new heights.
