Foundation Day Celebration at MV Hall

On 15th of September each year, the entire engineering fraternity in India rises up to celebrate ‘Engineer’s Day’, which is held in remembrance of one of the most celebrated engineers of all times Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The story is no different in NITR as well. The 45th Engineer’s day-cum- Foundation day of M. Visvesvaraya hall of residence, incidentally named after this great pioneer of growth, was celebrated in the hall premises. The programme was graced by Dr. Kamala Kanta Mohapatra, Director –in- charge; Prof. N. Panda, warden of M.V.Hall and assistant warden Dr. Sujit Sen. Apart from them wardens and general secretaries of all the other halls were present at the occasion.

The evening kicked off with lightening of lamps by Dr. Mohapatra. The guests stated that the cultural unity and diversity in hostels, despite all odds, deserve appreciation. Also, Prof. Panda threw some light on the life story and achievements of Visvesvaraya. Dancing, singing and instrumental performances were there to make the evening a musical extravaganza .There was a prize distribution ceremony too, to acknowledge the successful participants of various cultural competitions held a week prior. After the vote of thanks by Dr. Sen, the wonderful evening finally concluded.
