Library Refurbishing
The students of NIT Rourkela often steal the spotlight at the national and international arena with feats of academic excellence. The institute also tries to help the students in maintaining such a niche at the highest level by providing them with a state of the art Biju Patnaik Central Library. Since change is the only constant, the ever-competent authorities decided to bring about some appreciable changes in order to make the library a much more comfortable place for students to carry out their works.

Infra@NITR; Progress on the wheels -A Review
On 6th of June, 2007 when the Gazette of India Extraordinary declared the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, to be proclaimed as an Institution of National Importance from 15th of August, 2007 and thereafter, it was essentially designed and destined, some day to be an educational city having outlying hubs not only for all round technical advancements but well equipped to nurture the future intellectuals of India.

New Hangout Corner
The variety of taste buds developing among students of NIT Rourkela and the increase in the number of headcounts especially during fests have served as two major factors for a welcome change. The institute has decided to set up a new snacks outlet that would serve as a one-stop destination that allows everyone to wander through a multitude of design and culinary concepts of snacks in a single visit. Contemporary urban chic, yet simple and elegant—that is what describes it best.

New Road to follow the Electronics Building
A new pathway has been laid down in the back drop of the BT&BM department stretching from the Lecture Gallery to SAC, via the Central Workshop, departments of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, EC & EI twin tower and the Golden Jubilee building as well.
