BT Department: Educative Workshop
A highly informative workshop on Immuno-characterization and Flow Cytometry based Cell Sorting (IFCS-2013) was conducted in the department from 22nd March to 23rd March, 2013. Prof. Krishna Pramanik, Head of the Department, was the convenor of the enlightening workshop while Prof. Mukesh Gupta acted as the Co-Convenor. Prof. Sunil Sarangi was the patron for the workshop.

Labs Cached Up
The department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, pursuing its pioneers in the research fields, has added to its polished laboratories two new sophisticated apparatus: a high end Mechanical Tester and a Chemical Documentation Unit Image System.

Department Set to be Refurbished
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, had invited proposals for consideration of support under the scheme Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology Infrastructure (FIST). The Scheme intended to provide basic infrastructure and enable facilities for promoting R&D activities in new and emerging areas and attract fresh talents from universities & other educational institutions. The FIST programme for this year was organized at Bangalore on 10th September, 2012.

New Kids in the Block!
The department ushered in its fresh B.tech students on 3rd September, 2012 in a grand manner. The ceremony was held in the evening at PPA in the presence of various luminary professors of the department including Prof. B.P.Nayak, Prof. A. Thirugnanam, Prof. S.S.Ray and Prof. Indranil Banerjee.
