Garnering accolades: Prof. Pradhan
Adding to the list of laurels received by professors of the institute, Orissa Physical Society on the occasion of its 30th annual convention conferred Assistant Professor Dr. Dillip Kumar Pradhan with “Orissa Physical Society Young Scientist Award” for the year of 2012. The award was bestowed in appreciation of his significant research in the field of Physics on 10th of February, 2013 at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.

CONFERENCE RETURN SEMINAR
Professor Suryanarayan Dash demonstrated a seminar on the topic “Magnetodielectric Response of Coexisting Phases in Manganites” on 23rd January in the physics department seminar room. It was highly appreciated by all the attendees that consisted of research scholars and faculties.

M.Tech (R) Defence Seminar
Sanghamitra Acharya of Physics Department conducted an M. Tech (R) Defence Seminar on the topic Studies on Superconductor/Nano-composite of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8/BiFeO3 under the supervision of Dr. P.N. Vishwakarma on 10th January 2013 in the department seminar room. Most of the faculties and fellow research scholars attended the seminar.

RESEARCH SCHOLAR IN ITALY
Ms Jashashree Ray brought laurels to NIT Rourkela by representing the institute in the sixth edition of the Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS) held at Parma in Italy from 9th to14th September 2012. Faculties and research scholars from all over the world attended the symposium. Ms Ray along with other scholars from institutes like IISc Bangalore, IIT-Delhi, IT-BHU, NCL-Pune represented India at this international congregation of intellectual minds.
