AMAAS: Amassing Proficiency
1st and 2nd March 2013 were days of technical splendours at NITR. The Mechanical Engineering Department of NITR, in collaboration with CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) and DST (Department of Science and Technology) organized a two day long national conference on ADAVANCES IN MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF AERODYNAMIC SYSTEMS (AMAAS 2013) here at the institute. Our revered Director, Prof. S. K. Sarangi, was the Patron of this prominent conference.

ASME-NITR
Amidst all the limelight stolen by Sports-fiesta and Convocation X, colourful posters of ASME-NITR on the notice board triggered inquisitive minds to think and have look on it. ASME- American Society of Mechanical Engineers is an organization that promotes the art, science and practise of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe, proposes a budding step to bring out the hidden talents in NITR. In response to the huge appealing posters, a large number of students went on to have an outlook of it in its first orientation held in PPA on Friday the 18th January evening.

Gas-solid Multiphase
An extraordinary anxiety develops whenever we listen about multiphase flow. In recent years hype has been created over gas solid multiphase flow and now it’s our turn to experience something new. A seminar was conducted on the topic “Eulerian modelling of gas-solid multiphase flow in horizontal pipes” in which speaker was Mr. Brundaban Patro (611ME310). It was conducted in seminar room of the Mechanical department on 9th January 2013.
