Renewable Energy Production: A Benchmark
It is needless to say that the plethora of new research publications & sponsored projects has set the Chemical Engineering Department on a rapid development spree. Currently, one Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (Hydrogen Energy & Fuel Cell Division) sponsored project named ‘Production Of Hydrogen Gas From Biomass And Wastes Using Fluidized Bed Gasifier’ is heading towards its completion. Work on this project had begun on 23rd of June, 2010 under the guidance of Dr.Abanti Sahoo.

Near infra-red activated nanostructures for biodiagnostics
The institute has a reputation in the world of innovations and findings. In the past a lot many prestigious projects have been bagged and completed by the NITians (students and professors) of this institute. Increasing the count of the prestigious projects bagged by our professors, a couple of projectshave been bagged by Professor SupratimGiri. One of these is estimated to be around 23 lakhs, sponsored by Department Of Science and Technology (DST) and the other is estimated to be around 40 lakhs, sponsored by Department of Biotechnology (DBT). Both the projects are to be funded for a span of three years.
