It seems like dogs have got a license to stroll around the campus. Menacing one and all, these supposedly ‘best buddies’ of human beings are turning out to be the biggest nuisance in the campus. Previously, there were only a few of them but it seems that the authorities forgot the basic rule of life: all living things have the capacity to multiply! And hence, now we have the Canis familiaris wandering everywhere.

The problem is slowly turning into an epidemic and is sure to bring havoc over all if not countered soon. The authorities’ turning a deaf ear towards this significant problem is not at all helping and by not countering it in the initial stages, the authorities are throwing axe over their own legs.

The problem has grown to such a level now that the dogs are now a common sight in the hostels too. The worst affected are Homi Bhabha, M.V.Hall and G.D.B. Hall. The dogs enter the mess area and loiter around the corridors. Sometimes they even enter the rooms. These dogs often get violent and disturb the entire lot by making strange noises at night. It seems like the day to day affairs in the halls are incomplete without the dogs.  The caretakers and guards do nothing but ignore these dogs as if they do not exist. “It seems the authorities have taken the fact that dogs are men’s best friend too seriously by allowing them to live with us under the same roof!!”; quotes Shalabh, a M.V. Hall border.

We sincerely hope that this problem should be sorted out as soon as possible.
