Prof. Santanu Bhattacharyya from the Department of Ceramic Engineering has replaced Prof. Akrur Behera as the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Prof. D. R. K. Padhi from the Department of the Mechanical Engineering has replaced Prof. P. K. Ray as the President of the Student Activity Centre.

Prof. K. C. Biswal from the Department of Chemical Engineering has replaced Prof. K. Pramanik as Dean of Student Affairs.

Prof. Mahavir Panda has been appointed as the Dean of Research and Control.


The new Heads of Department of the respective departments are as follows:

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering: Prof. S. Meher

Department of Civil Engineering: Prof. N. Roy

Head of the Computer Centre: Prof. S. K. Patra

Department of Industrial Design: Prof. B. B. Biswal.

Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering: Prof. B. C. Ray

Department of Chemical Engineering: Prof. R. K. Singh

Department of Mechanical Engineering: Prof. K. P. Maiti

The administrative appointments have met with mixed reactions from the student community. ‘With great power comes great responsibility’ runs the adage but nowadays, the burden of expectations also accompanies great power. We can only hope and look forward to a better management of the SAC and affairs concerning the students and academics.
