Two Indians among Forbes' top 15 education innovators list
Indian-origin CEO of Datawind, the maker of India's low-cost tablet Aakash, Suneet Singh Tuli and Massachusettes Institute of Technology professor Anant Agarwal have been named by Forbes magazine among the 15 "classroom revolutionaries" who are using innovative technologies to reinvent education for students and teachers globally.

Hindi course: Shanghai International University
India today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a leading Chinese university in Shanghai for establishing a Hindi Language Chair at the varsity. The MoU was signed by Indian envoy to China S Jaishankar and Shanghai International Studies University Executive Vice President Feng Qinghua on October 29 at Shanghai, a release from the Indian Consulate in Shanghai said today.

CBSE announces schedule for the optional proficiency test
Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the dates for the optional proficiency test for class X students on last Tuesday. CBSE has been conducting optional proficiency test in all the five main subjects of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Keeping in view the convenience and comfort of students and schools, the next proficiency test will be held in the month of April, 2013 for students appearing in March, 2013 class X examination.

CBSE to introduce Chinese language
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is introducing Chinese language in class VI from the academic session 2012-13. In order to cater to the diverse needs of students in a globalised world and in view of China emerging as one of the major global economies with Mandarin being spoken by an increasingly large population worldwide, CBSE is offering the language in class VI from the current academic session.
