IIMs want international accreditation
To get aspiring business leaders from foreign countries join their courses, IIMs are now trying to get accreditation from two global bodies and the authority to award degrees rather than diplomas in business management. "Considerable progress has been made towards enabling the IIMs to award degrees rather than diplomas. Though the PGDM of the IIMs is very well recognised in the industry, a degree would help in strengthening the reputation of the IIMs Internationally," IIM Kolkata's outgoing director Shekhar Chaudhuri said.

Oxford University sued for discriminating against the poor
The University of Oxford has been forced to review its post-graduate admissions policy after it was accused by a student of discriminating against the poor. Damien Shannon, 26, had sued St Hugh's College at the world-renowned university, for "selecting students on the basis of wealth and excluding those not in possessions of it".

Six AIIMS-like institutions to become fully functional in 2013-14.Health for all and education for all remain one of the highest priorities of the government, and accordingly, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Thursday proposed to allocate Rs. 37,330 crore to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the Budget 2013-14.
