With another hectic day at college coming to an end, some of the most formidable quizzers of NIT Rourkela geared up in pursuit of the next generation of quizzers. INQUIZZITIVE, the quiz society of NITR conducted their inductions on 12th august at LA 101.
The club is an amalgam of talented individuals who have bagged prizes at national level competitions. In fact, they are the defending champions of the TATA Crucible quiz competition. The induction started with the club members explaining to the freshmen how school level quizzes are different from the quizzes at the college level, as the latter requires not just memory power but also a fair amount of analysing skills. The introduction was followed by a slide show presentation showcasing the principles, targets, activities and achievements of the society. This lot believes in the saying “knowledge is power”. The club, apart from participating in nationwide events, also conducts quiz competitions of its own.
Aftermath the presentation, it was an all-out quiz war among the freshmen and a bunch of sophomores. The participants were to form a team of two or three. The quiz tested the students’ wits on a whole new level, ranging from historical events to current news, from movie stars to sporting incidents. The freshmen also looked very promising with a couple of students already having experience in participating at national level quizzes. It was a trying round of about 20 questions. The students were exploding with excitement during the discussion of answers, in anticipation of getting them right. The winner of the quiz was Debasish Pradhan, who was a solo contestant. A select few individuals will be inducted into the club based on their performance in the quiz.
Team MM hopes that this group of brilliant minds scale new heights in this coming year.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
