Digging Deeper into Colours

Painting is the silence of thought and music of sight. An artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.

There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Chitraang is one such club that provides a platform to such idiosyncratic talents of NITR.

The inductions for Chitraang were conducted on 12 September, 14 at LA lawn. The inductions began with the first round being the calligraphy round in which participants were asked to write their first name in the most artistic way they could. The time duration for this task was 10 minutes. This was followed by the second round in which different topics were given to all the participants and they had to depict the allotted topic symbolically through their drawings for which they were given 20 minutes. This was chased by the PI round in which the participants had to elucidate their drawings of the second round to the interviewers who were Shantanu Kumar, Shiva Prasad Sahoo and Siddhant Chand. To check the dedication of the participants, they were also asked to present their former drawings or paintings in the PI round. After going through the aforementioned stepping stones, 11 out of 25 students were finally rewarded with the membership of the club. The event was effectively coordinated by Nischit Mishra, Madhulika Das, Swetaleena Mohapatra and Kumar Chand.
Apart from fest graffiti’s, the club has got some new projects which would add hues to their grandeur. The event was a hit and team MM wishes the club all the success in their future endeavors.
