A taste of victory in any competition gives an immense joy and happiness and winning outside the institute in a competition or during an inter-collegiate fest is a very prestigious thing for most clubs in the institute. They practice for months at a stretch just with a motive to raise the institute’s flag high outside their domain.
A group of enthusiastic dancers from Synergy left for IIT Dhanbad for its cultural fest Srijan with an aim to bring home a victory. It had been a long wait for a victory of the dance group. Participating in the group dance event Hustle Herd, Duet Dance event Reflection and Solo Dance Competition Footloose the group returned with prizes in every category. With an undefeated for the whole year in the institute fests, the expectations were high and they didn’t disappoint.
In the group dance event Hustle Herd, the group stood first among 12 teams that performed. With an entertaining performance the performance received a standing ovation and a score of 96 out of 100 from the judges. This had been a victory away from the institute after a long time for the group. Next on the line was Duet Dance Competition.
In the event Reflection, total of 3 teams performed from the dance group and all three got selected for 2nd round. The first and second position was bagged by the two teams from the group. These were the same terrific duo’s which won the competition in IIT Kharagpur earlier this year. The first position went to Vijay Barkey and Dipanjana Basu while the second position was bagged by Kunal Sahu and Isha Mishra.
Last was the Solo Dance Competition in which 7 performers showed their moves in front of the Dhanbad audience. Out of these, 3 performers moved on to the second round. Coming over tough competition in the final round Jisha Bhattacharjee stood 3rd in the competition.
The dance group has definitely raised the bar with its every performance. Their spectacular performance is praiseworthy. Team MM congratulates the dance club and praises it efforts in raising the institute standards away from the institute.
