Culminated with the awaited end of the mid semester examinations and the not-so-awaited end of Puja vacations, the first fest of this academic session, the Multi-Ethnic Fest 2014 kicked off to a “start” on the breezy evening of 15th of October. The fest which spanned over a length of five days had promised to deliver a vivid and unfazed rendition of the culture, ethnicity and diversity of our country interspersed with the “unity” that we proudly proclaim to have. With already a lot of fingers pointing towards SAC for unequal and absurd distribution of funds to the technical and cultural societies, this fest was anticipated to be good enough to give a meaningful answer to all the raised eyebrows.
We are into the penultimate month of the semester and the most awaited season of fests has commenced.
Tech Days are traditionally precursors to; more like an appetizer of sorts for the ravishing main course that is Innovision. For the freshers, it is a trailer of the things to come, for the seniors, it is a reminder of what to expect from their favourite franchise in the arena of tech fests and for the organizers it is a rehearsal for the endless days and nights of creativity, brainstorming and verve that are to come before the final showdown, the Technical extravaganza unfolds itself. Tech Day’14 bid to be the curtain raiser for Innovision 2k14, was organized on similar lines. A compact but comprehensive elucidation on how Tech Day 2014 went proved it to be an improvised version of previous years’ tech day by leaps and bounds, be it publicity of the events, participation, number of events and you name it.
The Entrepreneurship Cell of NIT Rourkela organised Seal the Deal, the business event, on the 6th of September on the occasion of Tech Day 2014. A large crowd of close to 80 enthusiastic NITRians turned up in LA-114 at 2.30 in the afternoon to test their skill and knowledge of current market dynamics.
One of the biggest attractions of the Tech Day, a practical teaser for the tech fest of NITR Innovision held on 6th September, 2014, is TechKhoj 2.0. 2.0 owes its inauguration in the previous year by CEST Club. Keeping the trend alive for this year too, it started as the first event for the day in Students Activity Centre (SAC) at 9:30 am in the morning.
