Adding laurels to the Crown

This year the department of biotechnology and medical engineering witnessed numerous developments. A new curriculum committee has been framed which comprises people from industries, research organisations and departmental academic committee. It basically includes director of IFGL, Deepak Mishra from Tata medical centre Kolkata, an expert from Aditya Birla Group of Industries and former director of IGH. The committee gave feedback after reviewing the syllabus. Recently the department has gone through accreditation by NBA. The experts for Biotechnology came from IIT Roorkee and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi whereas experts from IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and JNU came for the Biomedical department. After going through the feedbacks from these experts the department revised the syllabus emphasising on industry related courses.
