An Irremediable Loss: Deepthi Tirumalaraju

Think about someone spending five long years in this institute. Think about someone who is about to complete her Ph.D. Think about someone whom you have looked on the chair beside you working with full enthusiasm and always smiling. And the next moment she is gone, far away than one can imagine leaving you with nothing but tears and despair.

Deepthi Tirumalaraju, a Ph.D. research scholar, left us forever to venture into the kingdom of heavens. A brilliant student from Vizianagaram, she completed her from our institute itself and was only a few months away from getting her Ph.D. degree.
Deepthi was sent to Phuket, Thailand for attending an official conference representing NIT Rourkela. A daring lady, she took to Scuba diving there but unfortunately things took an unpredictable turn during her diving stint. She succumbed to the incident after fighting hard for ten days in a coma.
An ex-GS of CVR, her contribution in the organization of Golden Jubilee Event of Chemical Department was remarkably unparalleled. She had been a favorite among professors, and her research mates.
One of her work mate expresses,

It seems just like yesterday when she was sitting on this seat, smiling and working energetically. Her absence will always be felt. The loss is irreparable. When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men.

She will be an idol to everyone around. Team MM offers the deepest of condolences to her family. May her soul rest in peace.
