Mr Biswajit Dwivedy, a PhD scholar under the mentorship of Professor S K Behera, of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, visited San Diego state University, California, USA for collaborative Research work from 21st November 2014 to 13th January 2015. His project titled “Frequency Reconfigurable Dielectric Resonator Antenna”. Frequency agile antennas used for mobile handset applications must also be inexpensive, robust, and make use of electronic switching with reasonable DC power consumption. Previous works have addressed a number of these requirements but relatively little work has been performed on frequency agile dielectric resonator antennas. Therefore, Mr, Dwivedy’s work has significant application in the field of communication.
He successfully carried out the full wave analysis of the antenna feed network and designed the layout with the active switches within a limited period of time. This Antenna will be useful for Radar and Satellite applications within a wide bandwidth of 2.7GHz to 4GHz.
He thanked TEQIP-II, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela for the financial support he was provided with for his visit to the San Diego State University.
Team MM wishes him all the very best for his future endeavours.
