Travelling Overseas: Sustainable Design in Mining

Mr. Alok Ranjan, PhD Scholar at the Department of Mining Engineering visited Amman, Jordan from 13th -15th May 2014. He attended a conference on ZEC Sustainability, organized by the Al Zaytoonah University of Jordan and presented a paper entitled Advancements in Communication and Safety Systems in Underground mines: Present Status and Future Prospects. The theme areas of the conference were sustainability, architecture, new communicative applications, water, sewage and gray water networks, solid waste management, geo-technique and road safety, green buildings, renewable energy systems and so on.
