In yet another instance of excellence from the School of Management, Ramakrishna Gupta P, pursuing his PhD at NIT R, has been recognised by BITS, Pilani as the author of the best paper at the International Conference on Evidence Based Management. The conference, held at BITS, Pilani, received papers from some of the premier management schools in the country, including those of IIMs and IITs. With this achievement, the School of Management has added another feather to its cap.

Ramakrishna's paper titled " Strategic Approach of HRD Interventions and Employee Competency towards Organisational Effectiveness: An Empirical Study" portrayed the effect of certain employee oriented parameters on the effectiveness of the whole organisation. His study was based on the evidence gathered from two manufacturing companies, involving around 290 employees, both executives and non-executives. To get more accurate results, his study was limited to only those employees who had attended a programme on any of the following areas - career development, performance management and training and development in the last two years. His paper depicted the effect of above parameters in the form of Structural Equation Modeling using Amos software.

Ramkrishna attributes his success to Prof. Dr. Chandan Kumar Sahoo, HOD, School of Management, under whom he is pursuing his PhD. He ranks research at NIT R at par with that in the IIMs and the IITs. Asked to elaborate on that point, he cites the use of tools and techniques used in the research paper, is pretty advanced and is not generally taught in other institutes.
