The Bliss of The Blessed: Bless and Bliss Orientation Program
Sohan Mishra | Feb 11, 2019
The student chapter of the social service foundation Bless and Bliss (BnB) was recently registered in SAC under Literary society. The Rourkela chapter of BnB started on the 2nd of February the past year. The aforementioned chapter was started by alumni Md. Akramuddin Ansari to reach out to the underprivileged and join hands for the same.
The founder Md. Akramuddin Ansari, Civil engineering, 2016 batch quoted:
Bless and bliss is very close to my heart. While returning from Ranchi in a train, I came across some children begging in the platform. I got the thought of doing something for them to lift them out of utter poverty. Hence I started this club and as bunch of enthused individuals we have continued to grow in terms of projects as well number of cities we are operating out of. I hope things to take a positive turn with the establishment of this club under literary society of SAC.
The club had its orientation on 16th January 2019 in LA 101. The program saw a footfall of around 20 people largely owing to mediocre publicity and it being a relatively new club in the Insitute. The flow of the induction process was taken over by Md. Akramuddin Ansari, as he went down the presentation slides elaborating how the club started, the current number of members, how it has managed to reach this far and its future projects.
President Soumya Ranjan Mohanty, a final year student from Mining Engineering department, quoted:
Bless n Bliss always had always marked its presence ever since its inception through books, clothes donation drives etc. But I felt we never got the kind of popular support we deserve from the NITR junta due to lack of established club activities. It was time to expand the roots at the very place where it all started. I hope to leverage my experience of working in various fests and see to it that we grow our in terms of number of coordinators as well as improve our workings at the education centre. We are also going to formally recruit summer interns from NITR for our education centres in Rourkela and Ranchi.
Having said that, Bless 'n' Bliss is all set for its new endeavours and collaborations. Bless and bliss aims for gender equality and is a resting shoulder to support the brethren. BnB, for years, has strived to establish education centres in order to bridge the gap of schooling for the underprivileged children. The firm also collaborates with financially weaker institutions to aid them as they reach out to everyone, teaches mental and physical defence to girls and has also taken steps on providing skill-based training to uplift the transgender community. The club is known for holding four major projects in an academic year: Shikshalaya, Samarthan, Saksham and Swabhimaan; as they are under progress round the year each heading a step forth to stand over the aforementioned primary agendas.
Team Monday morning provides it’s warmest wishes to Bless and Bliss for their future projects as it steps into NITR with higher reach and promises to evolve as a club and beyond.
