"Life Is A Stage"

Furnishing this as the official tagline, Pantomime, the official dramatics club of NIT Rourkela registered under the Literary and Cultural Society conducted its Orientation and Induction on the 30th and 31st of July at LA 117 after a heart-whelming play titled 'AZADI'  at LA lawns on 29 July.  The event scheduled to begin at 5.30 pm was delayed by 55 minutes because of slow turnout but witnessed a decent participation of drama enthusiasts which included freshers as well as sophomores of the institute.

The orientation kickstarted with a brief interactive session with the senior members of the club. The senior members of Pantomime gave a brief description of the prime motives of the club. It was followed by a presentation citing the past events hosted by the club, and achievements bagged during the past session in various cultural fests. The Session also aimed at informing the students about the wide range of activities undertaken by the club in the past.
On one of the freshmen on his experiences, he said:

The orientation program was very nice and the interactive session by the seniors was also great. I was very much interested to participate in this orientation after witnessing the mind-blowing performance of the team members in the act 'AZADI'. It was really a memorable experience for me.

This was followed by an Induction program. The attendees were provided with a questionnaire containing some general questions that would show one’s interest in the club activities. After the completion of this written round, some tasks were also given to the students and a few no. of students were selected based on their performances in the written round and the assigned tasks.

We have always tried to make Pantomime better than other drama clubs.  The aim of the club has always been to nurture the inductees and make them professionals. We priorities showing our culture rather than voicing it. We had expected participation of at least 30-40 freshmen this time. Even though the turnout is less still we have got some young talents.

Team MM Congratulates the club for successfully conducting the Orientation-Cum-Induction Program and wishes good luck to all the team members.
