The School of Management is a relatively new department that has seen steady expansion throughout the years. Management education teaches the fundamental ideas and skills needed to solve real-world company challenges. With each passing year, the School of Management has seen improvements and activities to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and today's business environment. The department focuses on value-based education, learning environments, research orientation, and consulting businesses by creating a robust academic industry link.

Vision:

The department aims to be recognised as a leading business school that fosters academic and research excellence. But more than that, the School of Management is dedicated to cultivating unwavering human values, social conscience, and improving the quality of life in companies and beyond.

Academic Programs:

The School of Management(SOM) provides a two-year MBA programme and research opportunities such as doctorates in management and multidisciplinary disciplines. The different electives offered are Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations, Systems & IT management.

The upward trend in placement statistics proves the multiple opportunities that await the graduating batch. 

Message from the Head of Department(HoD)

Greetings from the School of Management, NIT Rourkela! Since its inception in 2010, the School of Management has been imparting quality education in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations. We encourage our faculties to use modern teaching methodologies, live projects, research-based assignments, case studies, and extra-curricular activities for the overall holistic development of our students. We have a diverse group of students coming from different corners of India, as well as abroad. Our faculties come from one of the premier institutes of the country, including IITs & IIMs. We focus on building successful managers for our nation and develop individuals with a very high sense of moral values and social responsibility.
